The Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for:
Managing Macquarie's technology infrastructure
Supporting, maintaining and enhancing existing business systems
Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies and services
The Group provides each major business in Macquarie with a dedicated team
that works closely with that business to understand its particular
technology needs.
Macquarie provides specialist investment, advisory, trading and financial
services in select markets around the world. We focus on areas of business
where our particular skills and expertise deliver a real advantage for our
clients, concentrating resources where we can add the most value.
Our Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for managing the
organization’s technology infrastructure; supporting, maintaining and
enhancing existing business systems; and, delivering and deploying new
systems, technologies and services.
An opportunity exists for an exceptional Java Developer to join our dynamic
and growing business in Houston.
*Key responsibilities of this role will include:*
Designing and developing key web-based and data feed systems.
Maintaining and enhancing existing systems used by the business.
Establishing strong relationships and working with a distributed
development and support team
Participation in process improvement initiatives
Taking responsibility for delivering to agreed constraints in
terms of time, budget and scope
Managing time accordingly across multiple simultaneous projects
with differing priorities
You will work closely with the business and technical stakeholders
and will be required to work with minimal supervision.
*Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate:*
Experience in a similar role
The ability to work well under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A strong appreciation of key business drivers and an understanding
of the IT impact upon the business.
*From a technical point of view, you will have experience across:*
Programming languages including Java and scripting languages such as
Perl / Python
Delivering systems customised to clients requirements
Working with relational databases
