The Asset Management and Enterprise Application Services organization
(AMES) is an IT organization, committed to building out the IT
Business Analyst competency within AMES and raising the quality of the
requirements process for business and functional requirements. A BA
Center of Excellence has been established and Caliber RM rolled-out as
the requirements management tools, and a roadmap for further
improvement has been developed and approved.

The candidate who fills this position will be a quality focused self
starter that works with a sense of urgency. The candidate will serve
as a key member of the project team responsible for implementing the
next phase of the process improvement roadmap. The roadmap initiative
is wide-ranging, encompassing people, process, technology, business
alignment and organizational structure dimensions. This role is
primarily tactical – assisting with the implementation of the approved
plan – but has some strategic elements.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Mgr. BA Competency, support the competency
roadmap implementation:
• Assist in the development of communication plans to support new and
ongoing dialog with the AMES organization
• Assess the current use of requirements artifacts to communicate with
QA and development
• Support the development of clear roles and responsibilities for
analysts
• Support the rollout of training programs for staff development plans
• Provide input into the creation, review, and approval process of
training material, SOPs, templates, checklists, and other job aids.
• Assist in the development of metrics to measure quality of
requirements
• Support the expansion of standard requirements document formats to
include formats for all types of requirements
• Support the expansion of governance to ensure standard formats are
being used by analysts
• Provide assistance, research, and recommendations to support
industry best practices related to BA processes and requirements
quality.
• Support operational efforts and provide administrative support
related to the current process and toolset
Required education/experience:

 • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or
other related field is required
• 7 plus years of IT work experience in business/applications analysis
is required
• Proven ability to create high quality documentation in written and
graphical formats is required
• Expert oral and written communication skills, process definition ,
implementation, and facilitation skills are required
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to all levels of the
organization is required
• Thorough understanding of the role of business and application
analysts in supporting business requirements / technical solutions is
required
• Experience with a variety of elicitation techniques (workshops,
analysis models, simulation, etc.) and requirement/project types is
required
• Working knowledge of systems / applications software and the
Information Technology industry is required
• Experience with requirements definition tools like Caliber RM &
Define IT or HP Requirements Management is a plus
• Experience in working in a Project Management Office/Project Service
Office is a plus
• Business Analysis certification from IIBA or equivalent is a plus
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and CMMI or similar process methodologies is
a plus
