*Developer III performs high complexity (i.e. system level applications)
analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from
user requirements and design documents. The candidate also resolves defects
encountered during various testing cycles.
Developer needed to work on maintaining and enhancing existing Configuration
Management tools that have been developed in-house. Tools have been built on
top of Rational ClearQuest and integrate with Version Control Systems
including Subversion, ClearCase, and CVS. Responsibilities include working
with business analysts to translate business requirements into functional
requirements, writing quality code and performing unit testing of all
changes, and providing technical support. Candidate should be proficient in
object oriented concepts and software development methodologies, standards,
and procedures.
Day to day activities:
collaborate with business analysts and other developers to develop
functional requirements
design, code, and unit test changes to existing tools
support deployments of changes through the lower environments and into
production
provide technical support to users of the tools
create thorough documentation that captures all changes to the tools
Must have’s: Demonstrated experience developing applications using Perl,
Java, JSP, and Unix shell scripts; Superior knowledge of Rational ClearQuest
and ClearCase; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Like to have’s: Experience with Subversion
Background/Technology/Software: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics,
Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
Working knowledge of RDBMS, with preference for Oracle; Experience with
tools such as Ant, IVY, CVS, and JUnit.
Years of relevant experience: 7+ years software development experience*
