Job Description and Scope: The SAP Business Intelligence (BI) Development Lead Contractor’s primary responsibilities for this role are day-to-day support of the BI environment, including monitoring data loads and report processing; supporting report developers; performing requirements gathering and data modeling for system enhancements and future releases; addressing production break/fix issues, managing transport migration process; recommending and implementing performance tuning enhancements as needed, and researching OSS notes. The contractor will also collaborate with Client Basis Administration staff to advise on BI landscape issues, transport environment, and BI Authorization. The contractor shall use their SAP BI experience to enhance, maintain, and administer the Client’s complex SAP BI system landscape, coaching/mentoring of Client SAP resources, in support of the SAP software. The job requires the ability to maintain, monitor and administer the BI system landscapes, including all the different environments (development, test, training, QA, production, etc.) and applications (Data Warehouse, Integrated Planning, Visual Composer Dashboards, BI portal components). The consultant shall also develop and work with technical staff to ensure that the designs are developed with proper methodologies and techniques, in addition to performing troubleshooting of technical issues. The consultant shall mentor Client staff and be responsible for knowledge transfer. The primary job responsibilities entail: o Configuring and maintaining settings in SAP BI 7.0 o Developing and supporting the Public Budget Formulation application of SAPwhere Integrated Planning (IP) and Visual Composer skills are required (actual PBF experience is a plus). o Documenting applicable development processes and procedures in the assigned areas o Developing detailed technical specifications for new development objects o Performing unit testing, creating test scripts and participating in integration testing with appropriate end-user and technical groups. o Identifying, analyzing, assigning and/or completing assigned problem tickets o Making reasonable efforts to ensure system availability is at or above committed service levels o Assisting teams on other projects in order to ensure successful integration of SAP and non-SAP functionality o Providing Level 2 SAP Solution Center support o Supporting development activities in both the front end and back end areas of the BI environment o Creating reporting solutions using various toolsets such as Business Explorer Analyzer, Visual Composer, and Crystal Reports. The Business Intelligence (BI) Contractor will be required to work through the process of testing and maintaining SAP standard business content as well as custom objects & structures within the BI system. The candidate will be given a data model, data flow, & reporting requirements and expected to perform the BI Administrative Workbench configuration required to support the solution. This configuration may include enhancing standard business content and developing custom ABAP routines. The candidate will be required to code and test software that meets the design specifications; maintain and repair applications to keep them performing in accordance with technical and functional specifications; work in both the SAP and the Business Warehouse environments. Additional responsibilities include: o Work with other BI Developers, Query Designers, and Visual Composer Developers on projects o Provide post-implementation support for current and ongoing projects o Handle calls from end users o Interface between SAP and end users o Solve application problems that cannot be handled by the Help Desk o Examine problems to determine whether they are caused by a software defect o Test, modify, and document the system configuration o Aid in the design and development of reports, forms, interfaces, and conversions. o Participate in or facilitate business process definition and modeling o Configure the software to replicate the required business processes and analytical/reporting needs o Facilitate knowledge transfer to other project team members o Develop business process documentation o Ensure that business processes are effectively mapped in the software configuration o Performing Production activities as needed o Performing PBF project support as needed o The SAP BI contractor will not be assigned any duties outside of this scope of work without written consent of both the Client and the contractor’s firm. 2. Specific Deliverables The deliverables for this position include the following: o Documentation for all designs and technical specifications, o Documentation of all issues related to process design and implementation in the SAP BI area. o Configured, developed and tested SAP BI functionality as required for production support & PBF Project Support o Weekly timesheets with attached status reports that list and describe weekly accomplishments, list of upcoming tasks, plus the status of any deliverables. By signing the weekly timesheets, the Client’s SAP Solutions Center (SSC) director accepts and agrees with the week’s work effort and deliverables. In case of a dispute, the SSC director will inform the contractor’s firm in writing, within 2 days of receiving the timesheet, of the reason for rejecting the timesheet. One week after the timesheet is presented, if the Client does not accept or reject the timesheet it will be considered accepted. 3. Job Qualifications The consultant must possess the following skills and abilities: o Must also have experience in Integrated Planning, more specifically in designing, implementing and supporting complex layouts, development of planning areas, multi-planning areas, version planning, planning levels, packages and folders and data slices and development of planning functions. o Experience in SAP’s Public Budget Formulation (PBF) planning module is highly desired with experience in Visual Composer/ PBF form design and dashboards. o Ability to do modeling for planning development using ABAP. Ability to use the retractor in conjunction with Understanding of Performance Tuning design choices, o Provide go-live Production Support, Familiarity with SAP-BI terminology, structure and functionality. Ability to support a Integrated Planning environment including accuracy of the data, performance monitoring/tuning, and other regular maintenance activities. o Excellent written and verbal communicative skills. o SAP Certification in BI o Excellent working knowledge of SAP IMG and configuration tasks in regards to BI o SAP ECC source system extraction and activation o Appending source system extractors o Generic data source creation and assignment o Non-ECC source system integration o Standard Business Content activation within BI o Info Provider design and development (Info Object, Info Cube, ODS, & Multi-Cube) o Transfer rule and Update rule design and development (exit Routines) o Info Source design and development o Implementation of virtual key figures and characteristics o Info Package creation, scheduling, and monitoring (data loads) o Transport Management System experience related to BI o BI query design and development using BEx Analyzer, Visual Composer, and Crystal Reports 4. Required Work Experience: o Minimum of 3 years in a BI production support role with daily hands on support of production activities including system enhancements, break-fix, requirements gathering and end user support. o Experience in leading a team of developers, managing their work loads, and coaching them on their work. o Hands on experience working with FM, PS, MM extractors and InfoProviders. o Hands on experience working with IP extractors and InfoProviders. o Hands on experience implementing LO Cockpit extractors specifically application 02 and 13.
