The estimated termination date is February 1, 2012. *II. SCOPE* The selected consultants will perform the following tasks: *1. Job Overview:* NYCDOE has standardized on and implemented a common middleware infrastructure (ESB) in its efforts to support SOA as the solution delivery architecture. The architect will be part of the shared implementation team responsible for all aspects of the SOA architecture. In specific the ESB Technical Architect will fulfill these roles as part of the implementation team: Mandatory Roles Fulfilled by The ESB Technical Architect: · Websphere Message Broker Architect · Websphere Message Broker Lead Developer · WebSphere Registry and Repository (WSRR) Architect Desired but not required: · WebSphere MQ Architect · WebSphere MQ Lead Developer Infrastructure Roles supported by The ESB Technical Architect: · Websphere Message Broker Administrator · WebSphere Registry and Repository (WSRR) Administrator The architect will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: · Develop and maintain the various Messaging Patterns and reference architecture document · Mentor junior members of the integration team and be an education resource for the application development teams · Advise senior management on the strategic direction of the relevant technology/product area · Recommend and develop integration standards, guidelines, and best practices for WebSphere Message Broker and WebSphere MQ Design and Develop message sets, maps, message flows and configure/develop adaptors · Monitor compliance of Service Integration policies and ESB usage · Execute vitality checkpoint processes to ensure the maturity of service integration capabilities · Setup and monitor WSRR to ensure enterprise standards are being met in the implementation and delivery of services · Assess and develop strategies for middleware training needs for the Application Development Teams · Provide guidance around IBM MQ based solution architecture and operations · Provide security guidelines around integrating all of the products with a central LDAP store and provide guidance for implementation of appropriate security controls *2.
