*Position Description*



1.    Quality Assurance Management - 60%

• Work closely with the globally distributed WM-QA and partner QA
organizations to implement the defined QA plans (for new countries –
development and existing countries – support) and by virtue of being onsite
provide local time-zone monitoring and coverage to the QA function
• Co-ordinate from onsite all activities of QA in the various tracks namely,
Functional, Regression, Automation, Performance and Usability
• Work closely with the onsite technology and product teams to ensure
requirements understanding, through to UAT and lead to signoffs
• Define, implement, and maintain best-of-class processes, procedures, and
tools to enhance quality assurance processes and productivity
• Work with technology teams to insure defined levels of quality and
testability is built-in to the system design and code
• Work closely with peers to provide consistency in establishing software
quality processes, standards, and guidelines

2. Vendor Management - 30%

• Work closely with the globally distributed WM-QA and partner QA
organizations to disseminate the product specifications and help envision
the product as perceived by the product management team
• Work with technology partners to promote and ensure adherence to quality
processes such as test plan reviews, defect management, risk analysis and
regression test maintenance
• With the help of technology partners, draft QA designs, define test and
implementation plans, manage issues pertaining to schedule, resources and
risk with regards to Quality Assurance

3. Metrics Management - 10%

• Evaluate existing metrics and engineer new ones to measure the quality of
WM’s functional releases and also the performance and efficiency of the QA
team
• Proactively recommend methodology improvements based on industry best
practices and present proposed technical solutions to various teams in the
organization



*Minimum Qualifications*



Functional Competencies:

• Proven track record and experience in having led functional and technical
QA for B2C ecommerce applications in the retail and supply chain domain
• Good understanding of Test Tools: Quality Centre, QTP and HP Performance
centre
• Basic understanding and appreciation of the various engineering
technologies - Java, JMS, Oracle, Unix, HTML, XML, VSS, Share Point, Web
logic
• Strong experience in working with offshore teams and bringing out their
best potential/efficiency
• Capability to think outside the box

Interpersonal Competencies:

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Work well in a team environment or individually, with a positive attitude
• Interact well with technical teams, business owners and project managers

Leadership Competencies:

• Persuade / influence team members, sell ideas effectively, get results and
follow through, both within WM and in our partners

1) Experience:

• 7+ years of industry experience in QA
• 3+ years experience in leading/managing quality teams
• Basic experience in products and solutions engineering
• Proven results-oriented person with a delivery focus.
• Ability to facilitate cross functional team communications
• Good time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments
with different priorities
• Knowledge and experience with different computer languages, operating
systems, enterprise application packages, database management systems, and
hardware capabilities
• Excellent risk assessment and analytical skills
• Knowledge and experience in system/integration testing


2) Minimum educational level:

• BS in Engineering, or equivalent, advanced degree preferred

3) Other / Physical Requirements:

• Some international travel
