Req Details:
Data Modeler
Primary focus is data modeling using Erwin (v 7.2)
They will be performing queries and the doing their own analysis on the data
(detecting trends/patterns/knowing how to categorize and/or sort data)
Needs to perform SQL queries and be excellent with excel to find, sort, and
manipulate data Environment is Oracle 10g and datastage as an ETL (nice to
have!)
Some SQL server
Projects are in the risk management group but primary client will be the
asset management group so Capital Markets
Experience is a tremendous nice to have Insurance experience is nice, risk
experience is a very nice to have as well.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of demonstrable experience with relational database modeling and
reporting using ERWin Data Modeler/ Model Mart.
- Knowledge of reporting and ETL technologies/methods, including Data
warehouses, operational data stores, data marts, star and snow-flake schemas
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience working with Data Warehousing,
Databases such as Oracle, SQL Server databases in the minimum;
- Excellent SQL skills to perform complex data analysis for data modeling,
adhoc requirements, performance tuning etc
- 3+ years of demonstrable experience working on projects related to either
financial or insurance industry (Risk Management is a plus)
- Proficient in using MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio
- Knowledge of Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema modeling is a plus
General Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of financial Industry (Knowledge of Insurance and
Risk Management is a plus)
- Excellent communication skills, quick learner - Can operate in an
independent, self starter manner, as well as in a team setting
- Deadline driven, with an ability to work under pressure
