Teradata APPLICATION DESIGNER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• End-to-end solution architecture for DW / BI solutions in a Teradata MPP environment.
• Creation and implementation of data warehouse architecture and systems architecture (i.e. Teradata data architecture/data model) • Providing guidance and leadership to ETL and Reporting teams for Teradata architecture and performance. • Understanding business challenges and will translate them into requirements/solutions. • Leading performance tuning / optimization. • Advising on advanced Teradata concepts including Teradata AJI's (aggregate join indices). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a multi-platform environment including, but not limited to application development or database development • Must be able to develop efficient and effective program and system solutions in solving highly complex business problems • Proven ability to implement and deliver software solutions through the iterative life cycles using Agile or Waterfall style methodologies • Must be able to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs • Must be able to analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex programming and system problems independently • Must be able to work well with groups of business customers and IT partners • Must be able to provide direction to others in analyzing and solving program and system issues and problems • Must be able to provide technical direction and solutions to other team members • Strong familiarity with Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server Database systems and reporting methodologies • Strong writing, documentation, and oral communication skills • Must be able to plan and manage your own work • Thorough knowledge of all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle • Strong understanding of the principles of Data Warehouse functions including the use of Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, Star Schema modeling, and Snowflake Schema modeling • Strong knowledge of data modeling support for numerous strategic application development projects Sincerely,
