*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
· Analyze basic, moderately complex and complex business/technical
problems
· Design basic to moderately complex components, modules, programs
or applications under general supervision
· Develop specifications for basic, moderately complex and
components, modules, programs or applications
· Understand technical environments for development and production
support for assigned components, modules and applications
· Understand the business process supported by the assigned
application
· Understands and applies all aspects of the application development
methodology
· Follows systems standards and procedures as defined
· Completes assignments and tasks within agreed upon timelines
· Works in partnership with assigned business clients
· Works collaboratively to achieve team results
· Completes administrative tasks, status reporting, etc., as
required by supervisor
· Develops complex programs and modifications to programs from
specifications as assigned with minimal supervision
· Documents programs and program modifications to programs as
assigned
· Code complex programs and modifications to programs as assigned
· Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal
customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, then
create and deliver the artifacts as needed:
· Functional requirements, Technical Specifications, Business
Requirements Documents, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs
Activity Diagrams, and Supplementary Specifications
*Qualifications*
· Proficient technical skills including
· Use Case Development
· Modeling
· UML
· Database design
· Program structure
· Data queries
· Data elements and types
· XML/XSLT/XSD
· Demonstrated business and systems analysis skills
· Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis/data modeling
· Proactive thinking, and exceptional analytical thinking and
problem solving skills
· Ability to identify and resolve systems problems
· Ability to estimate work effort, resources and project time lines
· Ability to work under and deliver results in assigned timeframes
· Demonstrated ability to develop and code from specifications
(preferably in Java or C++)
· Low level technical knowledge of software development activities,
concepts, process and procedures
· Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members to
produce the solution
· Must be self‐motivated with the capability to work independently
with minimal supervision and direction, but must also have the ability to
take direction as well as the ability to work
independently or as part of a team on assigned tasks
· Ability to adapt to new situations quickly
· Detail Oriented with a thorough understanding of development
standards and procedures like SDLC
*Education/Experience*
· Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field and 5 years related
experience; or 7+ year’s equivalent experience
· 5+ years experience in elicitation of requirements through the use
of JAD sessions, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops,
storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process
descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis,
competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints
· 3‐5 years of experience with UML/XML, Use Case modeling tools and
analysis, Activity, Sequence, Class diagrams preferred
· Additional training and certification in technical writing,
business writing, human factors, usability engineering, and computer
science/software development desirable
· Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Visio,
development, requirements management, and prototyping tools required
