Location: Indiana Duration:1 Year Rate:$52/-hr Max POSITION DESCRIPTION 1) Oversee the design, development, and integration of existing Honda Line/Lot Control System (Java/ Websphere/ Swing/ UDB/ AIX implementation). 2) Provide technical leadership to team in support of Java and J2EE applications. Function as a mentor to Jr. level support and development associates. 3) Help identify new system requirements for existing Java/J2EE system and oversee design, development, and integration of new requirements. 4) Review development documents and provide functional and non-functional project requirements. Critique and direct architecture decisions & application 5) Identify improvement items associated with existing J2EE and Java applications. Make recommendations for improvement and help to plan and implement 6) Monitor application performance; support of server application installation, configuration, tuning and testing. Daily Tasks Performed 1) Provide ongoing production system support of existing J2EE and Java applications. 2) Work with users in gathering and understanding new system requirements. Work with regional management team in implementing application changes. 3) Plan for infrastructure upgrades and improvements. Work with support and business teams to implement and test changes Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge - 'KNOW-HOW' 1) Proficient knowledge of Java and J2EE development practices. Must have first hand experience developing EJBs applications, socket communication, and Java 2) Experince in administration / utilization of IBM WebSphere App Server (WAS) 5.1 +). 3) Object Oriented Analysis and Design experience. In-depth understanding of Enterprise architecture, architecture patterns, and design patterns 4) Understanding of system and unit testing methodologies and industry practice. Understanding of modeling and testing tools and their usage. 5) Experience using common build tools such as; ANT, CVS, and/or Subversion. 6) Experience troubleshooting multi-tier Java based systems, comprising Java applications, Websphere, J2EE web applications, UDB, MQ Series, etc... Required Skills - 'MUSTS 1) First hand experience developing enterprise (J2EE) applications and some Java Swing/AWT development experience. 2) Team Management and Project Management Experience. Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to explain complex issues to management team 3) Competent development skills using: Java/JPA/JSP/HTML/XML and other Sun web technologies. 4) Demonstrated expertise in Object-oriented application architecture, design, and development 5) Relational Database Development experience (Access, SQL, DB2) 6) Exposure to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and Rational Unified Process (RUP) development methodology. Position Success Criteria (Desired) - 'WANTS' 1) Experience using Open Process Control (OPC) communication protocol. 2) Experience using IBM MQ Series. 3) Experience re-factoring J2EE applications. 4) Experience utilizing industry standard web development frameworks (STRUTS, JAAS, FOP, Batik, etc.) 5) Proficient knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML) 6) Experinece using IBM WSAD and/or RAD Java Development tool Some PC hardware and software knowledge a plus.
