Title: Websphere Portal Tech Support Lead and Admin

Description 

Summary: Responsible for providing application support and administration
for our enterprise portal platform which leverages IBM Wepbsphere Portal
technologies. This is lead position requires a Bachelors degree in a
computer related major with broad knowledge and experience related to
computer systems and technologies. Specifically, Oracle, Windows OS, J2EE,
SQL , IBM Websphere Portal, Siteminder, IBM Web Content Management etc. 
Education/Experience 
o Bachelors degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer
engineering or related field required. 
o 8-10 years experience required 

Responsibility level 
o Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor 

Skills 
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention
to detail and interpersonal skills (Required) 
o Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time (Required) 
o Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide technical
support (Required) 
o Strong knowledge of application and infrastructure best practices involved
in managing a production environment (Required) 
o Strong knowledge of computer software, such as JSR 286 Portlet Spec, Java,
SQL, Oracle etc (Required) 
o ITIL Foundations certification (Highly Desired) 
o Thorough understanding of web-based applications (Required) 
o Ability to wear multiple hats such as portal support lead and portal
admin/portal release manager 
o Some understanding of integration of 3rd party COTS solutions (Desired) 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: 
o Advise management on current system principles and necessary updates and
recommendations 
o Ability to provide process improvements to existing operational
procedures. 
o 24x7 Production Support rotation 
o Provide support for major project implementations and application
enhancements 
o Act a liaison between Manage Service Provider and Application team to
solve production issues 
o Problem, Change and Issues management for applications supported
