Reply ASAP Location(State/city):Illinois IL/CHICAGO Duration: 6-12 months Req Details: SharePoint Analyst/Project Lead SharePoint Business Analysts Job Description** The SharePoint Business Analyst will be responsible for support and defining strategies of the SharePoint collaboration environment. The SharePoint BA will take on a pivot role in the SharePoint team and with internal Business Councils as the expert on SharePoint capabilities, taxonomy and information architecture. The BA will participate in the development of strategies and plans for the deployment of new the SharePoint Server 2010 infrastructure. During the pilot program and roll-out, the BA will play an important role in development of training materials, governance, assistance in the administration of team sites, and end user support,. The BA will also serve as one of the key liaisons to internal business super users and SharePoint sites to address business needs. FUNCTIONS . SharePoint subject matter expert, working as part of the SharePoint project team on configuration and support items . Participates in the development of overall information architecture for SharePoint including configuring site collections, and deploying site and site collection navigation. . Provides expertise on SharePoint capabilities and features both for customers, as well as providing guidance for SharePoint Team. . Develops governance, strategies, and plans for the deployment of new SharePoint environment usage, features, and upgrades. Keeps abreast of enhancements to system functionality that can be achieved through upgrades or add-ons. . Acts as primary site collection administrator for all site collections. Duties include configuration of the site collections, collecting and organizing metadata about sites and providing access points, and monitoring site usage, site size, and site ownership. . Serves as one of the liaisons to internal Business Councils (business stakeholders, super users, and pilot users) to understand, analyze and document their collaboration-related business needs; customizes and configures SharePoint to address these requirements including designing web parts and creating custom list to support business processes. . Creates and recommends site templates that capture best practice configurations for projects of various types, technical communities, individuals (MySite) and lab organizations. . Performs integration testing and ensures interoperability of base SharePoint and add-on products. . Troubleshoots SharePoint sites, workflows, and site collection issues. . Assists in the evolvement of SharePoint-based enterprise search technology. Qualifications . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/MIS. . Minimum of 3 years of SharePoint 2007 experience managing/deploying a SharePoint environment. Must include experience with customizing sites, using advanced SharePoint technology and custom web parts. . Requires superior written and verbal communication skills along with strong planning and organization aptitude. Needs to be a team player. . Three or more years of SharePoint administration or IT technical support . Experience implementing SharePoint intranet systems or customer facing extranets is highly desirable. . Project management experience is highly desirable.
