Title: Java Developer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
The individual will design, code, test, implement, and maintain web
applicatoins/web content for our Business Intelligence (BI) clients. This is a
Application Developer/Content/Analyst position that requires analysis, design
and development skills. As a developer, the candidate will analyze, design,
develop, and maintain web applications and reporting systems. Candidate will
also work with BI customers to gather content, requirements, etc. to implement
the web applcation or publish content. The Developer is responsible for
supporting project management staff and application development team members by
translating requirements into high-quality software products.
Required Skills
Web application development technologies and understanding of Section 508
Policy and Procedures as it relates to government website/application
development and knowledge of tools and resources to test for 508 Compliance.
Desired Skills
JAVA, J2EE, ColdFusion, Java Scripting, HTML, Windows XP , Adobe Photoshop,
Adobe InDesign, Flash, Quark Express, MS Project, Web Management Tools,
Statistics , FTP Applications, MS SQL, Oracle. Exposure to Business Objects is
a plus.
Job Qualifications
• 5 years of application development and support across the full application
lifecycle.
• 5 years of experience with web application programming JAVA and/or Cold
Fusion applications.
• Some familiarity with server-side scripting environments.
• Experience with MS SQL Server and Sybase Database.
• General knowledge of SQL, including the ability to construct command line
SQL queries and work with a GUI SQL admin tool
• Experience with support documentation.
• Ability to multi-task, effective time management skill for work on multiple
projects.
• High attention to detail and ability to test own work.
• Experience explaining complex concepts to technical and non-technical staff
using both excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exposure to Business Objects is a plus.
