 Job Title : Windows Server Support Analyst     
 
Job Description :   
This position is responsible for server administration, second level 
troubleshooting and ongoing support of client’s Windows 2003/2008 Server 
environment. 
 Additional Job Description :  
This position is responsible for server administration, second level 
troubleshooting and ongoing support of client’s Windows 2003/2008 Server 
environment. Provide on-call 24x7 support on scheduled basis. The candidate 
should demonstrate proficiency 
in Microsoft Windows server administration and troubleshooting. In this 
position, the candidate will provide front line support for infrastructure and 
application servers and be responsible for server administrative support 
functions including:• 
Create and manage print queues
• Set up, expand and maintain shared Data Folder Storage & FTP environments
• Manage user disk space allocation• Restore client data as required
• Assist clients with file permissions and responds to the needs and questions 
concerning their access to network resources• Performs a variety of 
installation, and maintenance tasks on selected infrastructure and application 
servers (including 
security patches, application upgrades, BIOS/Firmware, etc.)
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnostics of server problems (hardware and 
software)
• Assist Windows Engineering with implementation of solutions for 
infrastructure and application servers
• Assist in OS (Windows 2000 to 2003/2008 Upgrades) & Hardware Refresh / Server 
Consolidation activities including Physical to Virtual (VMware P2V) Migrations 
• Assist in VMware ESX 3.x to 4.x Migrations
• Assist in unstructured data migrations to NetAppThe ideal candidate will work 
closely with other infrastructure support & engineering areas to ensure that 
the security infrastructure is properly leveraged and supports the needs of the 
enterprise. 
Specifically the individual would be experienced with the following 
technologies:
• Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server and associated client components including 
IIS, FTP (eg. Tumbleweed Secure FTP) and other web tools
• Windows 2003/2008 Security, group policies, directory services and profiles
• Individual must be skilled in server imaging and remote administration of 
Windows 2003/2008 Servers including Microsoft Terminal Server/Remote Desktop 
• Strong knowledge of HP ProLiant server hardware (DL and Blade p & c-Class) 
• Familiarity with system management tools such as Microsoft Operations 
Manager, VERITAS NetBackup & Volume Manager, HP SIM, Altiris Deployment 
Service, VMware Virtual Center, Qualys, Varonis and Ionix ECM (Configuresoft)
• Understanding of DNS/WINS/DHCP and TCP/IP protocol
• Familiarity with server virtualization products, specifically VMware ESX 
servers
• Familiarity with high availability Microsoft Clustering, Load Balancing 
Solutions and SAN concepts.
Minimum Qualifications:
• College degree preferred (B.S, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
 Above 9 yrs of experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational/time management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Must have a professional attitude and capable of dealing with clients from 
all levels of an organization and work well in a team environment
• In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 operating systems
• Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational 
problems
• Ability to administer large number of application and infrastructure servers
• Ability to technically manage and coordinate multiple projects
• MCSE/MCSA, VMware VCP Certifications highly recommended but not required
• Overtime as well as off-hours support with on-call duties on rotational basis 
required. Non-standard work scheduled might be required as well.
