Oracle Database developer: Immediately required (by early next week) Duration: 12 months Location: Houston, TX
Max C2C rate: $40/hr 2 positions* * *Details*: The background is as follows – Client has a Data Collection Engine built on Oracle database that collects data from meters in the field. There are about 0.5 Million Smart meters deployed at this time and plans for deploying 2.2 Million over the next couple of years. Client needs to perform a number of analytics on this data and need two resources to do this: The database developer needs to be able to understand the schemas of the Oracle Data Collection Engine, understand relationships between schemas, extract data from Oracle and put it in a Microsoft Access database or Excel spreadsheet, write queries to manipulate the data to get information required to make decisions. As an example, if Client wants to know which older meters needs to be upgraded, the data developer should be able to extract data from the Oracle Data Collection Engine database, pull in data from other data feeds that Client will identify (such as an Asset Management System for firmware versions of the meter), determine if the manipulation can be done in the Oracle database or should be done on a Microsoft Access database on the local PC or on an excel spreadsheet and generate the report that list the older meters. The skills required are deep knowledge of Oracle database, MS Access database, Excel spreadsheets. Not a system admin DBA, but a developer DBA. Utility experience is NOT essential – the client will point out sources of data.
