POSITION PURPOSE:
SENIOR PROGRAMMER ANALYST will play a key role in technical solution
delivery of ongoing and new Starwood technology initiatives. He or she
will be responsible for developing data warehouse applications that are
fast, accessible, usable and well-designed with the end-users and business
goals in mind.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Programmer Analyst will participate in the entire life-cycle of
product development. His/her responsibilities range from requirements
analysis, application design, Informatica application development, testing,
production deployment, and production support. The Senior Programmer
Analyst should exhibit strong communication and be a team player as well as
be in possession of top rank technical skills. He/she must be a motivated
self-starter, capable of taking initiative as the situation calls.
The Senior Programmer Analyst must also be able to demonstrate top rate
technical programming skills, particularly in the Informatica programming
language. He/she should have significant experience building ETL
systems/tools, managing dynamic ETL, and designing, maintaining and
programming ETL interfaces to databases. Strong Database skills are a must
for this position. The Senior Programmer Analyst must be eager and able to
learn new technologies quickly.
Additionally, the Senior Programmer Analyst must have a passion for
understanding the underlying business problem as well as its technical
delivery. The Senior Programmer Analyst will be responsible for the rapid
assimilation of business requirements around Starwood technology initiatives
and must be able to effectively translate these requirements to an effective
technical solution.
He or she must be able to manage multiple projects at the same time. Day to
day responsibilities will include:
* Interacting with business customers to understand what needs to be
delivered.
* Working with a team of developers to design and implement effective
technical solutions.
The Senior Programmer Analyst must be that rare technologist who is also
able to be fully conversant and comfortable in the business problem domain.
Other:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be
established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of
this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to
disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be
required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the
percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the
manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel/dept.

Data Architect (2)
Position Summary:
The Data Warehouse Architect will be responsible for architecting data
warehouse solutions that are flexible, extensible, fast, and well-designed
with the end-users and business goals in mind. His/her responsibilities will
focus on data architecture and data modeling in a large scale data
warehousing environment. He or she will be conversant in leading data
warehousing methodologies, particularly Kimball methodology. The Data
Architect responsibilities will include:
* Gathering business requirements and communicating with project team
members
* Develop dimensional models using Starwood's standard best practices
* Participate in model reviews
* Develop source to target mappings and work closely with ETL
developers
* Work closely with Microstrategy team
* Present ideas, expectations and information in a concise,
well-organized way
* Correctly prioritize tasks
The Data Architect must also be familiar with Oracle PL/Sql programming
language. He/she should have significant experience working in an
Informatica/Microstrategy environment. Strong SQL skills are a must for
this position. Additionally, the Data Architect must have a passion for
understanding the underlying business problem as well as its technical
delivery. He or she will be responsible for the rapid assimilation of
business requirements around Starwood technology initiatives and must be
able to effectively translate these requirements to an effective technical
design.
