Job Description
Requirement is for Windows with some SQL, Apache, and JBoss
- Deliver 24x7 operations through a customer-focused approach
- Support administration, maintenance, implementation of production
environment
- Assist in software release including process and delivery
- Coordinate implementation, maintenance, and other basic operational tasks
- Monitor and detect application and performance issues
Experience with these technologies
- Administering highly available systems and applications
- Windows Server 2003
- JBoss and Apache web and app technologies
- Scripting languages (Perl, Shell etc)
- Familiarity with: TCP/IP, HTTP, Web technologies, firewalls, JDBC/ODBC,
Encryption
- Ideally: Capable of design and tuning characteristic of application
servers
- Ideally: Some Oracle or MSSQL database server experience
Daily duties:
- 5+ years systems administration experience managing enterprise - Windows,
and ideally also Unix/Linux environment experience
- Operational system and application support (troubleshooting errors,
performance issues, deployment and configuration of software)
- Facilitating issue resolution working with other groups
- Proactively monitoring servers and applications
- Scripting (Shell, Perl, CGI, etc.), X, Mail, SSH, HTTP/S, - Networking and
Apache Web Server, some flavor of Java technologies (Java, JDBC, Jserv,
JBOSS)
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities
- Good teamwork skills, with strong communication proficiency
- Excellent Project Management skills
- Must possess ability to work effectively and efficiently independently and
in a cross-functional environment
- Knowledge of Tomcat and Oracle/SQL, Sybase Mobilink, a plus.
- B.S. Computer Science degree (or equivalent)
