Also provide resume with contact details, rate, location and availability. * * *Title: Senior Unix System Administrator* *Location: NY* *Duration: 6-12 months.* The Senior Unix System Administrator's role is to manage, operate and tune Unix systems, servers, and related components to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure Unix system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. We have an immediate need for a Senior Unix Administrator working within our Long Beach, NY location as well as working at offsite data centers and satellite offices in the eastern US. This position will primarily be responsible for providing daily operational systems administration task for our UNIX environment which will include, but not be limited to: - hardware and operating system installation, performing backups, system configuration, patching, system hardening - Application support - Unix project work Some overnight travel may be necessary to offsite data center and satellite offices in eastern US. *Qualifications:* - at least 7 years of Solaris Operating System experience supporting mission critical, large enterprise environment especially Solaris 10 on Intel and Sparc architecture - 2+ years of experience with NAS and SAN technologies, preferable experience with Sun Storage Solutions - experience coordinating projects including setting scope, delegating tasks and overseeing timelines and deliverables - experience in Solaris containers technology - Open source personalization (apache, Tomcat) - Experience with patching/Jumpstart - In-depth LDAP integration - NIS, YP command, sudo, and integration tool - Strong scripting skills in one of the following; shell scripting and PERL - Strong Knowledge of Solaris UNIX server hardware components - Strong Knowledge of Unix/Linux security hardening - Adept at researching technology solutions - Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills - Utilize change and incident management systems to achieve highly available enterprise systems - Very strong documentation and communication skills - BS in Computer Science or a related field - Database experience Thanks & Best Regards, Sachin Jani 732-658-5313 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "KNOW.IT" group.
