Short Job Description:

   - Responsible for all phases of Business Objects report development and
   administration including Universe development and maintenance; report
   development; end-user and application team training and product support.
   - Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures
   for ensuring the security and integrity of the Business Objects Environment.
   - Implements conceptual and logical models and designs; maintains user
   access and permissions; works with all appropriate parties to resolves
   performance issues; maintains development and test environments in
   compliance with all company policies including data encryption and data
   obfuscation controls. Position requires a bachelor's degree and minimum of 7
   years of experience.
   - Candidate must be familiar with industry standards and best practices
   for Business Object administration, data architecture, and data warehousing.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

   - Create and maintain universes for all databases
   - Create requested reports for business groups
   - Training: This may include one on one sessions with users or classroom
   training for novices to experts
   - Support: Provide user support by answering questions regarding BO
   report design and distribution; or any other BO related problem

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

   - 7+ years of Business Objects universe and report development experience

   - 4+ years experience with SQL or PL/SQL
   - Expert Communication skills


Education/Experience Requirements:
Four year degree is highly desirable but not essential.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration Requirements:
Business Objects XI certifications

Key Responsibilities:

   - Install, configure and maintain Business Objects within the Bayview
   environment.
   - Administer effective monitoring and optimization procedures to ensure
   maximum uptime and resource utilization. Manage Fault Detection, Performance
   Tuning & optimization.
   - Administer operational procedures (SOP) such as installations, system
   startup and shutdown procedures, procedures for verification of correct
   system operation, , backups, recoveries, etc.
   - Work as part of a project team to coordinate, development and determine
   project scope and limitations.
   - Review process maps or application workflow charts to understand tasks
   applications will perform, such as updating records.
   - Assist in development of disaster recovery strategies and plans
   including backup plans, recovery procedures and periodic DR drills.
   - Review, Validate, and Deployment updates as required.
   - Implement production changes and conduct Post Implementation validation
   of changes; ensure a strict adherence to separation of Dev, Test, and
   Production environments.
   - Design, implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
   - Develop reports and dashboards as required
   - Manage hardware configurations and considerations for stable
   functioning environment
   - Recommend security considerations and insure that policies are adhered
   to when they are approved and implemented.
   - Understand impact of problem on overall architecture and related
   application interfaces.
   - Travel as necessary to company locations worldwide.
   - Adhere to all established Company and IT policies and procedures,
   including but not limited to:
      - End User IT Security Policy
      - IT Standard Operating Procedures
      - Records Retention Policy
      - HR Employee Manual
   - Complete assigned work within established service level agreements
   and/or within committed time frames
   - Perform tasks outside of specific responsibilities as directed by
   management.
   - Provide after-hours support evenings/ weekends/ holidays as necessary.
   - Work reasonable overtime as required.


Knowledge and Skills:

   - B.S. in computer science or 14 year equivalent technology experience
   - Minimum 7 years of work experience Business Objects administrator.
   - Solid skills in monitoring and performance tuning Business Objects
   - Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes.
   - Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures; Experience
   supporting a 24/7 environment with on-call rotation.
   - Detailed understanding and experience with Data Transformation / ETL
   processes, JBDC and ODBC.
   - Experience with high availability and redundant configurations (Cluster
   configurations, RAC, replication, recovery).
   - Ability to communicate clearly in person, on the telephone and via
   email
   - Creative/strategic thinker with strong leadership skills; analytical
   with attention to detail, organization and time management
   - Financial industry experience is a plus.
