Position : Automation Tester, Duration: 3 months Location: Herndon,va HAMP resource, please provide citizenship status. No sponsorships or 3rd party allowed for this project. Software Test Automation Architect/Engineer • Focus of the effort is on batch process modules, UI screens, Interfaces and Reports. • Proficient in Mercury's tool suite ( Quality Center , QuickTest Pro/WinRunner, LoadRunner) • Recent experience coding VB / VBA (Visual Basic for Access) in Excel 2003. • Strong SQL skills. • Work with development, QA, and Automation engineers to research, design, and develop complex test automation units. • Integration of individual test units into overall test suites. • Design Automation framework / modules to be scaleable supporting both predetermined and data independent populations. • Provide design documentation for the test automation projects. • Participate in the technical review of test automation project deliverables. • Participate in product feature design discussions that require test automation. • Provide the first level of support for the automation framework and test automation units. • Strong team-oriented, interpersonal, and communication skills. • Work with the Automation Infrastructure engineers to improve and enhance the existing automation framework. • Maintain the automation lab and equipment. • Maintain the test environments as required(e.g., data loads, database backups, restarting the servers, requesting deployments, troubleshooting issues). • Enter and track defects using Rational ClearQuest as required. • Ability to develop solid and maintainable automated test scripts and performance test scripts. • Working knowledge of the development, test, release and support processes. • Working knowledge of developing test plans, debugging/isolating problems and driving them to resolution. • Must have excellent problem solving skills and be capable of breaking down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes, this applies to both technical issues and process issues. • Communicate with support, business and development teams to resolve issues during test execution.
