Senior Software Design Engineer (#298) Bellevue, WA 40-hours a week Due to the proprietary confidential nature of this role with our company, specific details will be discussed during the interview process with you. Become part of a dynamic team focused on solving the toughest interoperability problems we face in commercial and open source communities, and be part of a larger cross company virtual team focused on a broad industry perception change campaign around interoperability. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will work on specific software projects to enhance the interoperability of our products and technologies. These projects aim at supporting the broad cross company Interoperability initiative as well as supporting the field activities. Interoperability is a major factor in many software procurement decisions, especially in today's economic climate. Most major corporations are running heterogeneous applications in their data centers and expect all software to work in an open, interoperable manner. Co-existence of multiple platforms, both commercial and open source, ability to use componentized software modules in a mix-and-match manner and adherence to open standards and practices are increasingly becoming a norm in today's corporate world. New technical breakthroughs like cloud-computing and virtualization are helping to accelerate this trend globally. Skill/Experience requirements; We are looking for a strong developer with significant experience in the following areas: IE, FireFox and other browsers extensibility models. The candidate understands the process involved in building an Add-On/Plug-in for browsers such as IE and FireFox. Javascript: the ideal candidate knows the intricacies of the Javascript language (including some AJAX frameworks like JQuery, Dojo, YUI,.) and its relationship with the HTML DOM. We are not looking for a Web developer but somebody with the ability to investigate issues such as performance or cross-browser interoperability problems. In-depth understanding of networking technologies such as TCP and HTTP.
