Candidates with Insurance experience ( Acturial applications experience ) will be huge plus . Project is a Pricing Model for Catastrophic Risk Pricing used by Underwriters * PLUS is to have Insurance background, preferred in Accuary applications (pricing/ economics)* Need a "front line consultant" strong with design/architecture/development Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Participate in the development of Actuarial applications. - Collaborate with internal users to identify technology-based solutions in pursuit of better efficiencies. - Design, build, implement, and support applications that meet or exceed business objectives. - Interface and communicate effectively with business leaders in non-technical terms. Required qualifications: - Played the role of a lead developer or architect in building complex object oriented applications. - Minimum 5 years of experience in developing multi-tiered solutions using .NET. - Minimum 1-2 years knowledge and experience working on complex Silverlight applications. - Technical skills to master application development: understanding of relational database concepts, and other skills involved with implementing an advanced web application. - Demonstrated ability to design, configure, and test software products. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Experience creating successful (well-received) GUI designs and application workflow. - Experience creating data-model designs, including appropriate use of normalization, indexes and constraints. - Experience managing a code base as part of a team using a source control management system (such as VSS, TFS, PVCS, CVS, Subversion, etc.). - Flexible, enthusiastic approach to work including a strong desire to learn a new product and a new business domain. Desired qualifications: - Experience working on Actuarial applications. - Experience or Knowledge of modeling tools like CATRADER, CLASSIC2 or RMS. - Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server - stored procedures, triggers, DTS packages, and general optimization techniques. Hands-on experience using SQL Server 2005/2008 is a plus, but basic familiarity is expected. - Experience implementing XML Web Services. - Experience working with Team Foundation Server.
