We are targeting a max of $30 to $32 C2C. This is a 6 month contract that will likely be extended. There are 2 openings, both in Herndon, VA. As a User Interface Designer you will participate in interviews, requirements gathering, concept modeling and use case scenarios, design interactive user experiences, review implementation and provide recommendations based on usability testing results. You will be responsible for delivering successful solutions that support the goals of the business and needs of the users. Responsibilities: • Understand and articulate the business vision, problem definition and opportunity. • Develop and communicate UI solutions that support and enhance the business strategy and user experience. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary management team in prioritizing functional requirements and developing a phased-development approach. • Craft visual representation of large systems, complex relationships, data and task flows. • Employ user-centered methodology to arrive at cohesive organization systems, elegant navigation systems, and effective labeling and search systems. • Communicate solution approach through development of user and data flows, use cases, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and specifications. • Communicate with colleagues and management to ensure product remains true to stated goals of functional design throughout development of product. • Orchestrate and incorporate feedback from usability testing. Requirements: • Experience in planning and executing successful web applications. • Degree in human-computer interaction, information or library science, product design or related field. • Solid understanding in the principals of user-centered design. • Solid understanding of innovative graphical user interface design, information design, and interactive design. • Understanding of and experience with web technologies including both front-end and back-end applications. • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills. • Adept with relevant design and information flow software – Photoshop, Visio, Illustrator, other design tools • Ability to write functional specifications for Developers and QA a must. • Ability to write online help for users in RoboHelp a plus.
