I am working on a Sr. QA position in the Twin Cities. This is a 6 month contract with possibility for extension. The client is looking for experienced tester with at least 5 years experience. This is not a lead position but a Sr. testing role. The pay rate max is $40/hr. Any candidates sent over would be appreciated. Below is the job description. Thank you!! Contract Length: 3-6 months, with extension potential Summary: In need of multiple higher level testers. 5+ years experience in testing in large, corporate environments. All manual testing. Automated is not necessary. .NET testing experience (programming/scripting in .NET in the past is even better). Visual Studio 2010 test suit is a plus (at least Visual Studio 2005 or newer). Job Summary Senior Software Quality Engineer responsible for quality assurance of an enterprise level application being developed for large scale market release. Responsibilities Identify the Target Test Items to be evaluated by the test effort. Define the appropriate tests required and any associated Test Data. Gather and manage the Test Data. Evaluate and log the outcome of each test cycle. Identify the most appropriate implementation approach for a given test. Set up and execute the tests. Analyze and recover from execution errors. • Create and execute test plans from business requirements and technical specifications • Plan, define, develop, document, and execute a variety of tests: functional, load, regression, compatibility, acceptance, performance, and integration. Special emphasis on performance and load testing in short-term future of the project • Participate on cross-functional teams to identify test requirements and integrate new technology • Design and implement test automation for web-based applications (including web services) • Participate in software requirements gathering and design sessions • Be proactive in continuous improvement of QA processes • Work effectively with team to ensure project success and champion high quality standards throughout the project Required Experience • Quality Assurance leadership experience required • Require more than 5 years of experience developing test software and automated test scripts for web-based software applications using Microsoft technologies. • Experience with testing of Enterprise Level applications -- Performance, Scalability, Security • Key tools: Team Foundation Server 2010, Visual Studio 2010 Test Edition, SQL Server 2008 • Ability to accurately estimate work effort for a project, contribute to the development of timelines, and manage work to meet the project schedule. • Experience in the setup and maintenance of test environments, execute tests, and document test results. • Document defects and track the issue to resolution. • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills, systems thinker, results driven, self-motivated, team skills, ability to work independently, excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred • Specific Agile experience • Experience in object-oriented design and development technologies including .NET, C#, or C++ • Experience with HP Quality Center or HP QTP (Automated isn't mandatory) Comfortable with registry-level manipulation of PCs for configuration and verification Education • Must hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with software emphasis. • Relevant certifications desirable, but not required Responsible for the core activities of the test effort, which involves conducting the necessary tests and logging the outcomes of that testing.
