NEED .Net Architect, Springfield, IL
Below is the requirements: Location: Springfield, IL Start: January 3, 2011 Length: 12 - 18 month contract (could move to permanent position) Position: .NET Architect Interview: 1 phone interview w/ client, followed by face to face Seeking a strong .NET Architect who will be responsible for technical and architectural leadership in the migration of a large PowerBuilder application to the .NET Framework for a local social services agency. This is a critical software application provides nutritional support to thousands of American citizens in a variety of states. The selected individual will provide guidance in architecting, designing and implementing a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for the application development group. He/she will also be responsible for the delivery of architecture artifacts that will demonstrate the projects adherence to strategy, design patterns, and best practices. The selected individual will also be called to do occasional "hands-on" work such as development or code reviews. He/she will also provide consultation on deploying the builds (once they are at that stage). He/she must have the competency to understand business drivers, articulate issues and risks, and present sensible, well documented technical solutions. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: * At least 10 years of overall professional IT experience. * Minimum of 5 years working within .NET, C# and object-oriented environment (either as a developer or as an architect) * Minimum of 3 years architecture level experience within .NET (extensive experience with system architectural concepts and frameworks). * Strong experience developing and/or architecting projects within the .NET 3.5 Framework. * Experience working on projects that are web-enabled applications, but that are deployed in a client/server environment (tools used to do this are WPF & WCF). * Any experience or exposure to ClickOnce deployments is helpful, not required. * Must also be comfortable with occasional hands-on coding & development. * Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. * Must have the capacity to learn new products and new processes quickly, and ability to follow directions. * Prior experience with social services or state agencies business rules is a plus, but not required. * Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field is required (candidate must be able to supply copy of degree or transcripts) Client's environment consists of C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, MS Visual Studio 2010, Team Foundation Server, WPF, WCF, SOA standards, n-tier environment, SQL Server 2008, ClickOnce deployments, .NET report writing tools (ActiveReports, DataWindows) Any experience with the following is a plus, but not required: * IIS 7.0 * Enterprise Library 5.0 * Sybase SQL Anywhere * Agile methodology (TDD, XP, SCRUM) * NUnit, MS testing framework * Entity Framework * Smart Client * Sharepoint * Configurable options * Calendar / scheduler (appointment books) solutions * Electronic digital signatures * Disconnected database architectures (multi-sites, mobile clinics) Candidate must be willing to work on-site in Springfield, IL. This is a long term contract lasting at least through December 2011 and very likely to go longer. It could even turn into a direct hire, permanent position should both parties agree.
