I have an excellent opportunity for a QA Testing Manager, based in Detroit, MI. This will be a one year opportunity with my healthcare insurance client. Please review the details and let me know if you have any qualified consultants available for a one year project. Candidates will need to have at least 2 years of Test Management experience, not simply Test Lead experience. Previous healthcare insurance provide experience would be ideal, but that is not required. I can send multiple candidates and the submittal window is open for the next 7 days.

Requirements:
This resource will ensure the successful completion of software projects by executing software quality activities throughout the software development life cycle.
They will manage, or will be actively involved in, the following activities:
1- Building and maintaining a "best in class" testing organization
2- Introduce and manage organizational change
3- Improve and further develop testing processes and procedures
4- Preparation and execution of manual and automated test efforts
5- Execution of system integration, user acceptance, and regression testing
6- Requirements review, authoring of test cases, and defining data requirements
7- Test planning and defect management
8- Interaction with the project team, business stakeholders, and external vendors
9- Preparation and reporting of testing metric information
10- Coordination with software release management
Role Description
The ideal candidate is a "software testing professional" who is experienced in leading large project testing activities. The ideal candidate is also experienced in managing a team of test leaders who are responsible for executing the testing life cycle.
Requirements and Qualifications
Skills and experience for the position include the following:
* 2-4 years experience managing Leads or Sr. Testers:
o Ensuring quality testing practices are being followed throughout the organization
o Ensuring continuous improvement and movement towards "best in class"
o Providing coaching and mentoring as required
* 5+ years experience on large test efforts as a Lead or Sr. Tester:
o Test planning, organizing, test design, and test execution.
o Development and execution of Test Strategy, Test Plan and Test Schedule.
o Supporting test lead by identifying risks and to develop mitigation strategies.
o Defect management tools and processes.
o Practical knowledge and experience in all phases of software QA.
o Testing at different levels (unit, functional, integration, end to end, regression, system, load and performance testing).
o Facilitation of User Acceptance Testing.
o Designing automation efforts for medium to large test efforts.
o Defining data requirements for test efforts.
o Data gathering for test efforts.
* 2 -4 years experience with developing generic and reusable frameworks that are used to support multiple applications:
o Development of documentation to facilitate usage of test automation framework.
* 2 - 4 years experience with hands-on development of manual test cases.
o Creating manual test cases from Use cases, Functional specs, and requirement documents.

Communications skills:
o Excellent Written and oral communication skills.
o Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written formats.
o Strong ability to coach and mentor test leaders.
o Participate in reviews of system architecture, and design documents.
Required Technologies:
* Web.
* Web security.
* PL/SQL (rudimentary only required).
* Rational Tools helpful, but not required.
Testing Roles
A Tester will be able to do the following:
* Manage defects.
* Create a test table from requirements.
* Coordinate with team as requirements are managed.
* Build good positive and negative test cases.
* Construct simple queries (i.e. PL/SQL).
A Senior or Test Lead will be able to do the following:
* All of the above.
* Lead a test team.
* Design and create a test strategy, plan, etc.
A Test Manager will be able to do the following:
* All of the above.
* Manage a team of senior testers and test leaders.
* Report testing metrics and identify areas for improvement.
* Implement testing practice changes to ensure a "best in class" organization.
