Solaris/UNIX Administrator *(US Citizen) (Sure shot Interview with in couple of days)* Location: Radford, VA Duration: 3 Months REQUIRED SKILLS: Skill sets that are required include Solaris UNIX (v9, and 10), Solaris Volume Manager, Red Hat Linux, Sun hardware, basic networking, backup and restore best practices, good security habits and practices, Sun Cluster, Veritas Volume Manager. PREFERRED SKILLS:. Skill sets that are desired include Symantec (formerly Veritas) NetBackup with Windows master server, Oracle database and application server, Oracle RAC, StorageTek 6500, NetApp. RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is for a Systems Administrator for a mixed and growing environment of Solaris UNIX (v8,9,10) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This position will work with the existing UNIX team to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support approximately 300 servers. In addition to SA duties, there will be a need for backup and restore support on these same platforms utilizing Symantec NetBackup software. This position will assist with implementing new system hardware and software, and provide input for developing local operating procedures and policies as needed or requested. This position will need to be adept at monitoring the ongoing operation of the servers and providing utilization reports to identify problems and corrective actions as needed.
