 Need Cognos planning consultant
* Location: New York City, NY
* Start: ASAP * Compensation: Up to ~ $Open/hr corp-to-corp. or 1099 all incl. * Travel: Travelling to Madison is required. Also person might have to go to Seattle to work with clients planning team there. Any travel to Madison or Seattle will be covered by client. DESCRIPTION: Client is seeking a Cognos Planning for Merchandise Planning Independant Contractor. TASKS: * Help DW team to install and configure Cognos planning including coming up with technical architecture. * Requirement Gathering * High level training of tool to Users and 2 Data Warehouse team members (we may send few members to Cognos training) * Design * Model Build * Integration with Data Warehouse * Report Design/Building * Helping UAT * System Documentation * Training End users (Users will also go thru generic WBT(Web based Training) on Cognos site) * Post implementation support for 2-3 weeks. SKILLS: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. * 5 years industry experience as Cognos Business Intelligence Developer required. * Expert in Cognos Business Intelligence administration and development including Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and Business Event Manager. * Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL). * Experience with Cognos 8 Planning a plus. * 2+ years working with relational databases required; Oracle experience a plus. * ETL knowledge and development experience a plus. * Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to balance multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. * A record of successful delivery of Cognos Business Intelligence Solutions. * Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to achieve goals.
