The position title is Senior Software Architect. The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum levels of experience: - 15 years of real-time embedded software experience - 10 years of telephony industry experience - 2 years of circuit switched protocol experience (T1/E1, GSM, other) - 2 years of transport protocol experience (DS3, SONET, other) - 2 year of ATM protocol implementation experience (AAL1 and AAL5) - 2 years of TCP/IP protocol implementation experience - 5 years of C++ experience - 5 years of UML experience (Rational Rose, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, other) - 5 years of embedded PowerPC experience - 2 years of VxWorks BSP (Board Support Package) experience - 2 years of DOORS experience (or other requirements management The candidate will join a handful of other software architects to layout, oversee, and troubleshoot the development of a satellite communication system. The group of architects will: - Reverse engineer 200,000 lines of C++ source code for existing satellite constellation - Generate and maintain a complete UML model of existing code - Eliminate irrelevant or obsolete modules - Capture the existing requirements, and remove or modify incorrect requirements - Derive new requirements for the constellation which may have been overlooked or otherwise not captured - Trace system level requirements to appropriate software modules - Architect the separate domains (task, process, partition) for the communication system. This includes all facets of the communication system including QOS (Quality of Service, redundancy, failover, timing, synchronization, inter-satellite links (ISL), etc. - Construct and maintain a High Level Software Design document - Develop the system verification plan to detail how the complete operation of the communication system is verified at each level (ground station, hand held terminal, inter-satellite) - Oversee the conversion/development of the individual communication system domains - Troubleshoot architectural issues as they arise (timing, failover, synchronization, etc.) - Participate in the overall system validation process *US citizen or green card holder preferred.* *Location: Cary, NC* *Duration: 6 months contract to hire* Thanks and Regards [image: cid:[email protected]] Sajid.
