Job Title : Data Migration/Business Intelligence Business Systems Analyst 
(DM/BI BSA)
Location : Orem, UT
Length of Contract :  3-6 Months

 



Position Summary

The Data Migration/Business Intelligence Business Systems Analyst (DM/BI BSA) 
will be responsible for driving the data migration and business intelligence 
processes from the concept phase through realization. The DM/BI BSA will work 
with business requirements, designs, process diagrams, data flow diagrams, 
training & demos, and all other functional elements required to successfully 
deploy and support data migration and business intelligence capabilities. The 
DM/BI BSA requires a deep knowledge of ETL concepts, business requirements, 
cross functional business processes, enterprise information systems, reporting, 
SQL, and relational databases.

Responsibilities
Working with key business users to understand their business requirements and 
integrate them into the existing systems, including Salesforce CRM, Data 
Warehousing, MDM, SAP, Oracle, Informatica, data cleansing services, Business 
Objects, and other custom developed application. 
Gathering and defining data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) 
requirements. Creating data mapping models and data flow diagrams. 
Design data validation and testing rules to ensure data quality. Lead user 
acceptance testing processes. 
Working with key business users to understand business drivers and needs for 
Client's G&A organizations (IT, Finance, Accounting, and HR). 
Gathering requirements from Client business units and documenting system design 
specifications based on those requirements. Be able to translate those 
requirements into software application requirements, if needed. 
Contribute to project estimating efforts - providing input and clarity on 
business requirements and options to implement those requirements. 
Work with other IT resources and business personnel to accurately estimate 
project efforts and design software interfaces such that it adheres to 
standards and supports the desired processes. 
Work with client business units to develop a technology roadmap and strategy 
based on business needs and industry standards. Be able to articulate the 
strategy, taking into account business benefits and limitations. 
Help validate and refine the project design to ensure that it continues to 
satisfy business requirements. 
Identify and diagnose data quality or system deficiency issues and provide 
options for resolution. 
Help prepare and lead training and information sessions for end users. 
Manage own workload, accurately estimate effort for tasks, and work with 
business users on priorities and goals, and work towards meeting those goals. 
Work with users and technical developers on creating robust test plans and 
conditions. 
Work in a team environment, and at times, taking direction from more senior 
personnel on the team. 
Develop in depth functional knowledge of existing and potentially new software 
applications.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, or a related 
technical field. 
5+ years of experience as a business systems analyst, preferably in data 
migration, or data management, or ETL roles within an IT organization. 
Strong understanding of data migration processes, ETL, and SQL. 
Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills. 
Ability to think logically and analyze application and business process 
requirements and accurately convert them to design specifications. 
Strong problem solving and issue resolution experience.
