Will be responsible for maintaining one or more databases, designing and
implementing new database systems, and modifying existing ones to optimize
performance, security and integrity using a variety of contemporary
products.

*The Database Administrator must have the following skills:*

**Four or more years experience with ability to:
Evaluate database server hardware
Install/upgrade/migrate Oracle Database software
Plan and build an Oracle database
Read and write SQLand PUSQl code
Use TOAD or SQl Developer to access Oracle databases and view tables
structures
Monitor system performance
Plan a database and the ability to read ERD and dimensional models and
translate into table structures, keys, indexes
Write batch programs and use the alerts and scheduler features to create
automatic monitoring and management processes
Open, close, copy, import and export databases
Backup and recover the database
Setup and perform snapshots and replication
Setup and manage RAC or other database system types
Enroll users and applications
Setup integration with Oracle databases
Manage and monitor log files to determine data errors or other issues
*Specific duties will include but not limited to:*

Manage and perform Installations and Upgrades to both hardware and software.
Create, update and maintain custom SQl searches for WAM users.
Develop and maintain custom List of Values (lOVs).
Manage and administer batch processing, including interfaces.
Review Job Manager logs and investigate errors.
Install and manage custom reports.
Configure, maintain and manage application and data servers .
Configuration changes that could potentially impact other integrated systems
to follow DoT change management processes.
System changes schedules shall be approved in advance by DPU in consultation
with DoT.
Administer security changes with approval from DPU in consultation with DoT.
Perform back-up, recovery, and archival tasks.
Perform disk space management.
Maintain multiple application instances(Production, Test, Train) and Others
as needed.
Work with Oracle Support or DPU staff on application issues.
Build Oracle database and application servers as necessary.
Manage peripheral applications(GIS interface and Bar-coding hardware and
software).
Document WAM customization( Triggers, customlOVs, SQl searches).
Provide read only access to data where the need is identified.
Provide 24/7 emergency support.
Perform mass data additions or changes as needed.
Release Oracle documentation for all patches and updates to allow for
review.
