The Systems Administrator also develops processes and procedures for ongoing management of the computing and/or network environment. The role is directly accountable for ensuring the overall availability of hosted products and applications. . Troubleshoot IT issues, determine root cause, and follow appropriate action . Provide consistent and valuable feedback to management . Assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm . Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products . Collaborates with development team on new and/or enhances architectures and solutions Required Skills: Ability to feel at home in a data center environment Understanding of Linux/Unix platforms - specifically Apache/Perl Must have EMC and other storage platform administration experience Candidate must have working knowledge of the following technologies: All Windows Operating Systems, MS SQL Server, Microsoft Clustering, Commvault Simpana, Veritas, Data Domain, VMWare vSphere/ESX, vRanger, EMC Clariion, Sharepoint, IIS, Perl, Apache Required Experience: University degree in Computer Science 5+ years administering enterprise systems Certification(s) in Microsoft Technologies - minimum "MCSE/MCSA" Strong VMWare ESX/vSphere experience Experience with MS SQL Server at an administrative level (analytical level very beneficial) Other Requirements: Access to reliable transportation for transfer of equipment from office to data center Ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
