*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*



·         Thorough knowledge of methods, tools, and technology used in
automated testing, such as SilkPerformer, SilkTest and QTP

·         Thorough knowledge and use of quality management methods, tools,
and technology used to create and support defect-free, application software
that meets the needs of the client/business partner

·         Considerable knowledge of the basic principles, processes, phases
and roles of application development methodologies

·         Considerable knowledge of primary database engines such as Oracle,
SQL Server, DB2 with a demonstrated ability to write complex queries to be
used for data validation and troubleshooting

·         Considerable knowledge of object-oriented development tools,
techniques, and principles with expertise in at least one object-oriented
language

·         Considerable knowledge of functions, features, and components of
existing and planned operating systems and applications

·         Knowledge and experience with source and change control management
methods, tools and technologies

·         Considerable skill in understanding and focusing on the clients’
needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients

·         Considerable skill in analysis, solid decision-making and problem
solving

·         Ability to manage change throughout the test automation process

·         Ability to deliver results under pressure

·         Ability to manage conflicting interests and identify compromises

·         Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills,
working with technical and non-technical individuals at various levels of
management and non-management positions

·         Ability to communicate with individuals at a level appropriate for
the audience

·         Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with employees, clients, vendors and public

·         Ability to effectively lead and supervise

·         Knowledge of TeamQuest a plus

·         Summary: Responsible for the planning, coordination and monitoring
of performace testing tools and strategies. Also creates, implements and
executes performance test scripts and test cases for software project
releases.

·         Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develops and maintains master test performance plan for software
project releases.

·         Manages the overall test performance process per the testing
methodology, and ensures the testing methods meet the specifications.

·         Specifies, builds, manages and organizes relevant test
environments and infrastructure. Uses script checks to verify a healthy test
environment.

·         Develops, maintains and upgrades performance test scripts,
utilities, simulators, data sets and other programmatic test tools required
to execute test plans.

·         Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral
and written forms.

·         Controls and manages daily test performanceactivities.

·         Provides internal quality assurance.

·         Identifies risks and develops mitigation strategies.

·         Reports on progress of the test performance process.

·         Evaluates the overall test performance process.

·         Coordinates project planning efforts with other areas or cost
centers affected by work unit projects.

·         Coordinates performance testing when new or major changes are made
to an infrastructure.

·         Administers and controls test tools.

·         May mentor or train other Performance Testers in processes,
methods, tools and best practices.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned.



*Complexity of Work*: Moderately routine; general policies applied. Some
decision-making.



*Education:* Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in
computer science, management of information services or a related field.



*Experience:* 5-7 years in quality assurance with full life-cycle test,
writing test plans, developing test cases and implementing test strategies;
including two years leading complex test programs and two years experience
with testing tools; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3
years minimum experience in development/execution of SilkPerformer scripts.
