*Experience Level: 9 Yrs* *Location: Foster City, CA* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Rate: Open* *Job Summary: * Business / Systems Analyst for a new software development project with Life Technologies in the CE (Sequencing) / Human Identification space (Life science domain, Java environment). *Technical Skills:* (Essential Skills) Business Analyst, Life Science Domain, Java *Roles &Responsibilities:* · Provide start-to-finish system analysis throughout the product development life cycle. · Collaborate with Marketing, Project Management, Engineering, Verification &Validation (V&V) and other project stakeholders to scope out projects and elicit detailed requirements. · Facilitate requirements workshops and reviews with project stakeholders throughout the software life cycle. · Perform requirements analysis to understand and communicate to the project team . *Skills/Knowledge Required:* · A structured approach to requirements elicitation and management, together with the flexibility to meet the needs of differing projects, is essential. · A BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) together with 5+ years industry experience in a systems analyst role and a minimum of 3 years experience with formal software development methodology, such as the Rational Unified Process or Agile, is required. · Previous experience with UML or similar object-oriented notation, together with hands-on experience using formal requirements management and modeling tools, such as Telelogic DOORs and Visio, is required. · The candidate must possess strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills, is comfortable working as part of a large cross- functional, geographically distributed team, and is prepared to work to aggressive timelines along iterative software development schedules. · Familiarity with Java development environments and associated technologies, relational databases and biotechnology are also desired.
