Job Title: Quality Assurance Tester
Location: Lansing, MI
Pay Rate: $45/hr

Job Description:
This contract position is primarily a technical testing role working with an
integrated team of developers, project managers, network engineers, consultants
and IT management. This individual will also be working with the application
users to create and execute system test cases and scripts. The objective for
this candidate will be to assist with the development of the client's IT
testing process through development and execution of detailed test plans,
techniques and tools to arrive at a repeatable process that will verify single,
multiple, volume and null records testing.
Experience working in a structured test environment and
implementing/documenting test methodologies is required.
Primary role:
The Quality Assurance Tester will have deep knowledge of software testing
methodology and SDLC. This knowledge and experience will be used to design &
maintain test plans, scenarios and scripts for various software product
development and system improvement efforts in the network infrastructure and
application development areas. The analyst will also be involved with: ·
performing unit test log reviews · system integration testing ·
performance testing · functional testing · user acceptance test
planning and guidance · batch process testing · release
management testing · production support testing · patch
management testing · regression testing · Production smoke
testing · developing scripts, plans and tools for testing ·
participating in design reviews as warranted · determining testing
approaches
Participation in design specification and technical documentation reviews will
be required. The individual's testing skills will be used to construct and/or
configure various testing tools and scripts to be used for future
projects/tasks. Also, the QA Tester will create testing and performance summary
reports, as needed. The QA Tester will also help prioritize defects to be
fixed based on business requirements and the needs of the customer.
Roles and responsibilities include: · Contribute to the SDLC from
requirements to deployment. · Design, development and execution of test
scenarios, tools and techniques. · Create and implement test plans,
cases and scripts. · Perform all technical testing on application
development and network management initiatives. · Assist with the
development and documentation of a test methodology for all technical test
scenarios. · Development and maintenance of test data and test
environment. · Setup and execution of performance testing tools such as
Rational Performance Tester · Participation in design reviews for
testability and test planning purposes. · Training and mentoring other
team members on the testing methodology. · Development of re-executable
regression test cases. · Assist in the implementation of QA standards
and continual improvements. · Generation of bug tracking/resolution
reports, test results, status reports and artifact reviews ·
Integrating test automation solutions with infrastructures and architectures. ·
Working with developers to identify test tool, data, and environmental
requirements to plan and prepare for test execution.
Qualifications:
· Practical working knowledge of software testing methodology
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Skilled on problem solving
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· 3 years experience in software testing and quality assurance
· 2+ years designing and implementing test plans, scripts and cases
· 2+ years experience using testing tools such as LoadRunner and
Rational Performance Tester preferred
· Experience with scripting or programming tests utilizing C#, .NET
3.5/4.0
· Familiarity with Open Source testing environments like NUnit and
WatiN/Watir
· Familiarity with Team Foundation Server and test-driven development
activities with TFS
