*Overview:*
The Sr. SQL DBA must have an excellent overall understanding of RDBMS
concepts. Must have good query writing skills as well as excellent
understanding of tables and views, joins, etc.
* *
*Requirements:*
1. Must have 3-5 yrs of production support & operations of SQL Server
2005-2008, *2008 is a HUGE PLUS * RDBM’s including: { *Configure, implement,
Migrate/Merge replication in a Clustered environment*}
*2. **Should have ability to migrate from SQL Server 2000 and 2005 to
SQL Server 2008*
1. migrate SQLAgent jobs,
2. maintenance plans,
3. SSIS packages
3. *Must have experience creating, generating and publishing s*
cripts:
4. *Should have a good overall understanding of the following*:
a. *SSAS*: Cubes, Dimensions, Fact Table, Measures and Schemas.
Deploying and processing cubes.
b. *SSIS*: Significant understanding of SSIS packages. Good
understanding of Control and Data flows. understanding of event handlers and
executing packages.
*c. **SSRS*: Significant understanding of reporting services. *Knowledge
of Report Builder will be an added advantage.*
5. Solid understanding of:
a. Backup/Recovery Strategies,
b. Indexing & performance Tuning,
c. Data Migration,
d. Security,
e. Capacity Planning
6. Position requires routinely looking beyond what is requested to
create greater value and process efficiency
7. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the
organization.
8. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and
effective communicator (sales oriented in approach).
9. Good writing skills and ability to multi task in the support of
this project
