Job Summary: The Wintel Technical Lead is responsible for technically leading and managing the Wintel Server team, in charge of supporting Wintel server infrastructure, support and management of the Microsoft and other infrastructure applications application stacks and all AD components such as Group Policies, Sites and Services, AD trusts, and OU structure. The Wintel Server Lead will be leading and managing the team on its daily activities including mentoring, organizing, setting performance expectations and monitoring progress and results. The Lead will work with management on the planning and implementation of the IT Infrastructure Team vision and direction. They will also work with the Security Team to verify that all security policies are enforced. Essential Functions: . Mentor and assist technical staff. . Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting and issue resolution. . Plan and conduct regular team meetings. . Build and maintain technical relationships with cross teams. . Report on team activities to management as requested. . Communicate and drive the technical aspects of the business direction to the team. . Effectively communicate technical proposals to team members and management. . Develop and maintain standards, processes and procedures to maintain consistent practices. . Develop and maintain documentation for standards, processes and procedures in used by the team. . Recommend, develop and maintain the tools necessary for the successful support of the environment by the team. . Assist and recommend on the purchase of systems, software and tools. . Proposed and plan internal team projects. . Research and evaluate technical alternatives in order to recommend the most efficient and cost effective road map for the team. . Manage the request, build and delivery of infrastructure applications. . Represent the team on project meetings as requested. . Represent the team on Change Control Request meetings. . Maintain and support configuration management documentation for all supported systems. . Work with application teams to tune systems for optimal performance. . Ensure the stability and performance of all Wintel server platform systems supporting the corporate infrastructure. . Monitor and proactively support capacity planning and analysis. . Manage and support build room environment. . Research, recommend and implement changes to the development, qa and production environments related to Wintel based server platform. . Ensure the proper patch levels. . Ensure the proper decommissioning of unused and damage equipment. . Research, test and recommends changes and/or upgrades/updates to the Wintel based server platform operating system. Experience & Qualifications: . 6+ years in a large sized distributed system environment. . Strong experience leading a virtual technical VMware and Citrix Administration team in a complex environment. . Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/responsibilities. . Ability to manage, motivate and work with personnel at all levels of the organization across multiple corporate locations. . Ability to communicate with peers, management and customers in general. . Technical skills and abilities: . Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server Platforms. . Strong working knowledge of VMware ESX platforms and other hypervisors. . Strong working knowledge of Citrix platforms. . Working knowledge of SCCM, SCOM, Exchange and other infrastructure components. . Knowledge around File servers, Distributed File Servers and file and folder permissions. . Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills around Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other Active Directory components. . Ability to follow through on commitments and meet project time lines . Troubleshoot issues in a fast pace environment. . Leadership in the deployment of world-class IT Infrastructure. . Ownership and accountability for production level issues. .
