Job Summary: This position is responsible for developing databases and related processes and procedures for support, administration and security for all enterprise database SQL Servers used to support ING Direct. This includes, but is not limited to controls and support of both data and code. This professional will also be responsible for Tier 2 support for Production issues, as well as, the deployment of Production and QA database releases in support of application development efforts. This role will ensure that customer service system availability targets and service level agreements are established and met. Essential Functions: * Serve as part of the Database Development Team in developing and implementing next generation database systems architecture. * Provide programming guidance and architectural support for applications and developers to support ongoing development projects in Agile environment. * Tune stored procedures, functions, and packages to support needs of developers. * Provide 2nd tier production support including but not limited to the release of development projects and migration of database related changes. * Develop system administration standards and procedures to maintain consistent practices. * Assist in the design, development, and support of relational and non-relational database designs and their physical generation in a team-oriented environment using data modeling tools. * Understanding of all IT best practices. * Support the backup and recovery strategy for the database environment. * Aid in the support/writing of SSRS packages, Perl, VBS, and batch scripts written to both monitor and maintain the database and support applications. * Provide support of production related data, including data maintenance. * Monitor and proactively support capacity planning and analysis. * Install and configure new database systems. * Independently identifies and addresses documentation needs. * Able to write comprehensive detailed documentation. Experience & Qualifications: * Four-year degree in related discipline with 7+ years experience in systems development * Minimum of 5+ Years of working with SQL Server Databases in an administrative and development support role. * Work with database servers should consist of at least 80% of the candidate's responsibilities. * Service performance relative to service requests and customer satisfaction * Continued training and study in technology and business leadership. * Technical training on Windows platform design and support Technical skills and abilities: * Strong knowledge of SQL development and SQL tuning. * Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including Data Center Cluster technology and Microsoft SQL Server replication technology. * Strong knowledge of database installation, setup, creation, tuning and maintenance processes. * Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server backup and recovery techniques. * Strong technical knowledge of database disaster recovery and high availability techniques and implementations. * Strong technical knowledge of SSRS and scripting languages such as visual basic, java, perl and/or batch used in support of database administration. * Working knowledge of database design and modeling, along with familiarity and use of at least one database modeling tool.
