As a member of a project team, the developer will assume various roles including full responsibility for delivering projects. Sharp programming skills, eagerness for challenging, leading-edge development opportunities, and the ability to work with a variety of technologies and personnel are critical to the success in this role. The developer on IT development team will be working with development teams, architecture team and the infrastructure teams as part of project delivery to design and deliver a holistic solution which adheres to the requirements of all teams in IT department. Responsibilities Work with the development teams to refine and clarify requirements. Work with Infrastructure teams to effectively understand the environment changes and accordingly execute development tasks by working with development leads and team members. Ex:- Windows Active Directory Upgrade, LINUX Migration, Replacing IBM MQ with JBOSS Messaging, Website Security vulnerability remediation, Browser application compatibility remediation etc. Work with architects on executing framework level changes impacting systems across the board. Work with performance testing team to effectively performance test applications for environment and framework level changes. Work with QA analysts to think out of the box creative ways to test functionality and performance of applications for environment and framework level changes. Properly track progress, effort, impediments and resolutions, by following SCRUM and Agile fundamentals. Ensure that all code retains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of ING DIRECT--s systems is in accordance with ING DIRECT policies, procedures and guidelines, taking appropriate actions for all violations. Qualifications MUST have 6+ yrs experience developing applications in high-paced business environments. Strong skills in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Servlets, WebServices, JMS, JUnit, SQL, Maven, Ant, JDBC Strong experience in developing and deploying J2EE applications to both windows and LINUX environments. Good working knowledge in configuring Tomcat and Apache on both windows and LINUX. Good working knowledge developing application components following the Java Messaging Standards, against different providers IBM MQ, JBOSS Messaging etc. Working knowledge on the following technologies an additional plus, Windows Active Directory, Sharepoint, Single Sign-on with citrix Working knowledge on XML technologies XSD, JAXB, XSLT Object-Oriented design and development. Working knowledge of information security concepts and principles Hands on experience with writing effective SQL and stored procedures Must be detail oriented, have strong communication, documentation, organization, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and design solutions based on those requirements. Knowledge of enterprise application design patterns.
