Job Description : Production Support Analyst

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Herndon, VA

Rate: DOE/HR



** 4am-1:30pm shift- 2 spots to fill**



*Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
Support 24x7 daily Production, Acceptance, Test environments for Fannie
Mae’s Risk Management Applications.
Required significant night ONSITE support.
Carry a pager (weekly on-call rotation) and monitor application during the
shift.
Support tasks include alert monitoring, opening trouble tickets, general
escalation, client coordination, vendor support and Unix server monitoring.
Assist with planning and testing of application, configuration and database
changes, and installation of upgrades and patches.
Incident Management - Work with Development and upstream/downstream support
to resolve Production/UAT/Test incidents.
System monitoring, support batch schedules, monitoring Unix/Linux servers,
set up batch and on-line production jobs, maintain documentation,
Participate in configuration/release meetings
Participate in the development and implementation of new/modified systems
and coordinate recovery of data.
Develop and run sql database queries to investigate data related issues and
support user adhoc requests.
Escalate issues and engage upstream/downstream teams to fix application and
system issues.
Update operational manual(s) and other support documents; generate
performance metrics and reports as required.
Create and/or document new processes as needed to support Internal, and
External initiatives

Required Skills:
Solid, demonstrated experience with supporting large, distributed Financial
system applications.
Communication and coordination skills are very important. Able to articulate
verbally and in writing status and root cause of any issues they manage.
Experience with Remedy, Autosys, OEM and shell scripts.
Java, J2EE and JBOSS application knowledge.
Experience in investigating and debugging production incidents in large
distributed computing environment consisting of hundreds of servers.
Experience with large scale, Incident/Problem/Change Management ticketing
systems such as Remedy (or equivalent)
Ability to think independently and act proactively, taking initiative and
ownership of issues and projects
