Also a strong understanding of h/w drivers as used in Windows XP and Windows 7. But we do need something several measures beyond “casual use" The images we need to create are for highly customized mobile devices with proprietary add-ons. This position is to address a critical backlog of Image Creation/Management work for client. The candidate will build and place into production, an image for a unique form of workstation utilized by the Police Department. Candidate must have strong workstation imaging skills and deep understanding of hardware and drivers, and a variety of imaging technologies, and workstation operating systems We are after someone with Image Creation and Management experience for Windows XP and Windows 7 computer workstation images on specialized RFI connected mobile workstations. Experience imaging with Ghost, as well with other imaging platforms/tools is important. Here is an overview of the CoSC MDC system. This should help with understanding the skill set necessary for this project. The imaging technology is very "old school", and the challenges are mostly related to the complexity of the networking and application areas. Hardware: Sprint Sierra Wireless PMCIA 3G network cards Radio IP software configuration (connection broker to manage multiple wireless data connections) DATA 911 models 1800 and 2600 Data 911 M5 Touch screen Vehicle Battery power recognition PIPS Vehicle License Plate system (local Ethernet) Operating System: The HUB-Data911 1800/2600 MDC is running Windows XP SP2, and the current images are based from the original Vendor image included on the MDC at time of purchase. The MDC are part of a local workgroup only, and there has been no SYSPREP or other image automation done. Network Connection/ Cellular: The MDC uses RadioIP software to manage multiple wireless data connections. The main wireless connection is to the Sprint Sierra Wireless PMCIA 3G card which has a dedicated link into our network through the RadioIP server which does NAT translation into the city domain network.
