Title : SENIOR JAVA or Python Location : Sebastopol, CA Duration : 12 months PHONe HIRE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: . Design and code software modules and/or systems supporting business requirements. . Work with QA and business users to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. . Work with business users and IT operations to deploy software into production. . Ensure that business process modifications, documentation and training are adequate to support the successful introduction of software modules and tools. . Support bug fixes, enhancements and disaster recovery efforts for existing software modules and systems. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: . Expert knowledge with application development in web-based systems and multi-tier environments, including web application frameworks and systems integration. . Expert ability in setting up multi-tier applications on multiple operating systems and platforms. . Strong system analysis and design experience. . Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into specifications and working functionality. . Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel. . Ability to provide technical leadership and training to other team members. . Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. . Ability to work in a collaborative environment and across departments. . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. . Proven time management skills. . Ability to juggle conflicting priorities while maintaining flexibility to allow for last minute changes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: . Four-year college degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent education and experience in relevant field. . 8+ years experience in software application development in web-based systems and multi-tier environments. . 8+ years experience in either Java OR Python and their associated development frameworks. . 5+ years experience administering and/or designing relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle etc). . Experience with Agile or Lean software development methodologies. . 5+ years experience with web development technologies and standards (HTTP, HTML, CSS, etc.). .
