Job Description: Seeking Data Architect / Database Administrators with experience in design and implementation of architectural standards for data security, high availability, replication, data storage and configuration management of database systems. Must have hands on experience in planning of data/information systems, and administration of Microsoft SQL Server Services. Maintain daily operation, performance and maintenance of organizations’ SQL Servers, SQL Integration and Reporting services. Experience in SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS set up/ configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Qualifications/Requirements: 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in a computer science or related computer field or engineering field and minimum six years of full-time, satisfactory experience using information technology in the design and implementation of architectural standards for data security, high availability, replication, data storage and configuration management of database systems. Hands on experience in administration of Microsoft SQL Server Services; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or recognized accrediting organization and minimum eight years of experience as described in "1" above; or 3. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to "1", or "2" above. All candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or recognized accrediting organization and must possess the required experience as described above. QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: 1. A Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or related computer or engineering field 2. Minimum of eight years experience in design and implementation of architectural standards for data security, high availability, replication, data storage and configuration management of database systems. Hands on experience in administration of Microsoft SQL Server Services. Proficiency in writing and speaking the English language * 4. Relevant certification(s). Examine data sources/ systems/ solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to create and understand requirements 2) Prepare/ maintain and document systems architecture and communicate architecture to business stakeholders & management 3) Participate in system/solution development as advisor. Participate in IT strategy sessions and advise on new product feasibility & cost 4) Understand technology limitations/features and set expectations. Also understand hardware, OS, databases and n-tier components and understand interactions among all components 5) Research new features, software and tools and advise IT Management, and understand new releases and migration impacts 6) Create and enforce database development standards and processes for coding, naming, data access and documentation. Also create and enforce data architectural standards for data security, high availability, replication, data storage and data configuration management 7) Create and enforce design standards for data architectural deliverables, extract rules, transformations, and set ETL standards for tools, methods and documentation 8) Ensure consistency across implementations for data integrity and define, implement data archive/purge standards. 9) Experience with multi-SQL Server 2008 administration, named instances, active/active clusters, and storage area network (SAN) 10) Experience in design, setup, installation and implementation of SQL Server 2008 databases in large scale environments 11) Implement SQL Server disaster recovery scenarios 12) Experience in routine data maintenance: Re-indexing, integrity checks, log file monitoring, create backups, restores, jobs, and database security 13) Experience in performance tuning: Indexing, compression drive distribution and load balancing 14) Extensive knowledge of T-SQL (procedures, triggers, functions), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Replication, SQL Server Reporting Services 15) Familiar with server virtualization and SQL Server 2008 R2 features.
