Java Web Developer Position ** The contract will be for 6 months plus a 3-4 month extension. Our client in Needham, MA is looking for a Java Web Developer with 5+ years experience. They must be a pure developer (not designer, not architect) and must also have experience with GUI and PHP. There will be a phone interview followed by 2 face-to-face interviews. Candidates must be willing to interview 2 times in person. *Required Experience:* - 5+ years of Graphical User interface design and experience building web applications. - 2-3 Years of Java experience. - Minimum 3 years experience with scripting languages such as PHP, Groovy, and Perl etc. *Technical Skills* - Expertise in Java and related technologies such as JSP, Groovy. - Expertise in client-side technologies including html, css, and JavaScript. - Knowledge of web technologies and API design. - Expertise in various web service protocols including XML-RPC, WSDL and SOAP. - Familiarity with web servers such as Tomcat, Jetty, Apache. - Familiarity working with databases (mySQL MS SQL). - Familiarity working with Wiki engines preferably MediaWiki. - Practical experience in programming paradigms and methodologies. - Deep understanding of internet protocols - TCP/IP and HTTP.
