*Position Description:* *Job Title: Sr. Network Test Engineer Location: FREMONT, CA **Duration: 6+ months * Job Description: Department Description: Client Mobility’s Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) System Integration and Test (SI&T) engineering group oversees the qualification of DSL CPE products which include various technologies like ADSL, VDSL, VoIP, Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
*Job Description:* Responsibilities include testing of Client’s Broadband, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), Customer Premise equipment (CPE) involving various DSL and VoIP technologies. This position holder will be involved in understanding product requirement documents (PRD), engineering requirement specifications (ERS), writing of new feature test cases based on PRD/ERS into a test management system, setting up test beds, testing of CPE’s following all required processes / meeting customer deadlines, troubleshooting issues discovered during testing phase, logging bugs in a database and recreating issues in the lab reported from field. The candidate is expected to work very closely with hardware and software development teams when issues are discovered. *Qualifications:* *Must Have Skills:* • Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies which include OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, IP addressing, Subnetting, LAN/WAN protocols (Ethernet, VLAN, ATM, PPP, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT), Bridging, Switching and Firewalls. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in developing test plans and setting up of test beds. • Understanding of complete testing processes and the software development life-cycle. • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong problem solving skills. • BS or MS in EE, ECE or CS (or related discipline) or equivalent work experience. • 3+ years of experience in software testing. *Preferred Skills:* • Understanding of xDSL protocols, ATM technologies and experience working with DSLAM’s. • Good understanding of VoIP protocols like SIP, RTP, RTCP, SDP and prior hands-on-experience working on VoIP products like IAD’s, IP Telephones and Media gateway’s. • Experience working with VoIP test tools such as Abacus 100, Sage 960B, Valid8 SIP conformance test suite, Advent and packet analyzers like (Wireshark / Ethereal). • Experience with data test tools like Smartbits 2000/6000 is a plus. • Experience in test automation using a scripting language such as Perl, Tcl or Shell scripting. • Knowledge of various open-source tools that can enhance the test environment. • Experience working with Cisco Routers and Switches is a plus. *Thanks and Regards,* * * *Vara Prasad Sadineni* *Lead Recruiter* ERP and ERP Corp 48521 Warm Springs Blvd , Suite 307A, Fremont, CA 94539.
