*Job title : SAP Basis Administrator Location : Birmingham, AL Duration : 18 Months Rate : $55/Hr* POSITION FUNCTION Under the direction of the Managing Team Lead, SAP, the incumbent provides support for the installation, administration, upgrade and monitoring of the SAP R/3 application software and databases. In this capacity the incumbent performs SAP R/3 system troubleshooting, analysis and problem resolution, views logs and trace files, and monitors and tunes SAP databases. This position is also responsible for liaison with user groups in determining access privileges and administering SAP R/3 security, reviewing and enforcing standards,procedures and guidelines for usage and techniques for SAP R/3 management, and documenting all procedures and policies associated with SAP R/3 Administration. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Security The incumbent is responsible for SAP security and administration of users and is accountable for all aspects related to keeping the Production, Development, Training, and Quality Assurance environments secure. Has primary responsibility for maintaining the SAP user IDs, profiles, and authorization levels; performing security maintenance and oversight of the development and modifications of SAP security objects. Maintain SAP security architecture and security plan for SAP environment(s). Maintain SAP security policies in support of Corporate Security Policies; coordinate periodic security audits regarding the production environment. Works closely with functional liaison(s) and Internal Audit to ensure functional needs are satisfied and separation of duties issues are addressed. Communicates with Enterprise Security Administrator regarding non-application related security issues and strategies. PERFORMANCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS BASIC KNOWLEDGE - Requires four-year college degree in Computer Science, Math, or equivalent direct work related experience. Extensive working knowledge of system development practices and programming techniques, relational database architecture and administration, UNIX operating systems and associated software and hardware products. MACHINE SKILL - Must be proficient in the use of mid-range and personal computers (PCs) and associated software. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE - Five years experience installing, customizing and maintaining Unix, ORACLE databases and related program products in an enterprise environment. Ability to handle complex SAP, UNIX, and Oracle systems administration tasks as needed. Broad knowledge of SQL and SQL statement optimization. Experienced with mission critical data center operations, performance monitoring, system tuning, and capacity planning. Skilled in automating routine system administration tasks. Experience with cross-platform networking in a TCP/IP environment. Strong customer focus and management of customer expectations; demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.Ability to present and explain technical information to diverse types of audiences in a way that established rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
