*Position : System Analyst (SQL/ETL)* *Location : SAN DIEGO, California*
*Duration : 6 months * *Hourly rate : $35/hr* Position Summary: The primary duties of this position include support for systems and processes managed or supported by the Integration Services group. This includes Tier 2 level system applications and systems monitoring, Tier 2 support for Data Integration Services' processing systems. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting, developing new and modifying existing code to improve processes and functionality of existing systems, researching and resolving defects, and executing other development and analysis tasks as assigned This position will also be responsible for clearly documenting production issues, resolutions and operational guidelines in support of production support operations functions. Essential Functions: 1. Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processing system exceptions across the Development, QA, and Production environments. Researches, correct, escalate ETL processes through completion. 50 - 70 50-70 % 2. Analyze, develop and document requirements to existing systems and workflows with the goal of improving results, reducing production processing problems, and improving production monitoring capability. *10-20 % * 3. Execute analysis and development tasks as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, researching and resolving defects as assigned. Support accuracy and currency of knowledge base system in support of production operations. *10-20 % * 4. Develop and document processes and procedures relating to Tier 2 support functions utilizing a knowledge based system. *10 % * Other Job Duties: 1. Work closely with Data Center Operations staff, DBAs, and others to ensure timely issue resolution and status communication to all effected areas. 2. Use defect tracking application to log and track defects and maintain currency of information. 3. Provide clear communication to Management in written and/or verbal form in a timely manner when Production issues arise. Generally involves some data analysis and write-up with summary of findings. Minimum Education Required: Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics (with a concentration in programming) or some other technical degree from an accredited college. Minimum Experience Required: (including years of experience) 5 - 7 years Software/Systems Skills Required/Preferred: Must be skilled in SQL Server and SQL query language. Must be able to read and understand stored procedures in order to troubleshoot issues that arise from failed stored procedures. Should have knowledge in troubleshooting performance issues. Proficiency in C# and C++ is required. Knowledge of Informatica is desirable. Should understand relational database management systems.
