*Duration : 6 months * *Hourly rate : $70/hr * Client is looking for an Application Developer for a 6 month contract in New York, New York. The candidate will develop an OLAP (SSAS) system, which reports front-office risk and P&L to senior business management. The candidate will use his/her extensive knowledge of SSAS internals including MDX and OLAP configuration, to maximize system performance. Experience with SSRS will be leveraged to generate reports using information stored in the SSAS cubes. The candidate will have experience developing java components and tuning databases to maximize reporting performance. The successful applicant will have a good understanding of fixed income products, risk and financial terminology. Looking for candidates with the following experience: 3+ years of experience developing SSAS cubes including MDX and partitioning. 5+ years of extensive experience developing robust applications. 3+ years of data modeling with demonstrated expertise in data warehousing applications. Experience using Sybase IQ is preferred. 3+ years of working with a standard reporting tool (Business Objects, SSRS, etc.). 3+ years of core java (server-side) application development experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Understanding of fixed income risk/analytics calculations is preferred. Responsibilities: Implement an OLAP solution for financial risk data using SSAS. Generate and customize risk and P&L reports for senior management. Improve reporting capability by using custom MDX queries. Work with BAs to gather and implement requirements from the business users.
