*Detroit/Somerset* *6+ Months* *Responsibilities:* - Developing and writing computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information. - Developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. - Assisting software developers by analyzing user needs and designing software solutions. - Analyzing user needs and develop software solutions. - Designing software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. - Analyzing and designing databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. - Supervising computer programmers/developers. - Researching, designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various industries including healthcare and communications - Setting operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. - Designing embedded systems software. - Applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. *Qualifications: * *Required Skills:* - Demonstrated experience with Vax - Review and develop detailed technical specifications for custom service enhancements and obtain review and approval from the appropriate parties - Review and provide feedback on business requirements and related project deliverables for requested Customer development initiatives requiring enhancements - Solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, systems performance and desired results. - Assist in the execution and validation of tests and output - Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. - Thorough understanding of technological infrastructure and how it relates to projects and system performance and operation. - Provide and maintain detailed and accurate status reporting, where required - Participate in strategic planning and system design for product redesigns and major product enhancements - Ability to travel to client sites, where required - AS400 experience highly desired - Cobol experience highly desired - Vax migration experience a plus - 7+ Years minimum experience. *Desired Skills:* - Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, MQ *Thanks & Regards....**?** **Astir IT Solutions* *___________________** **K.
