Title /Role : *Web Applications Manager* Location : San Jose, CA Duration : Full Time * * *Overview * The Web Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and support of Web-based Applications and Solutions in support of business. The position will oversee a globally dispersed group of web software developers and will have primary ownership of several web-based applications and technologies. The role will require interfacing with IT management and business owners to help refine and develop strategy and approach for the delivery of web-based applications and tools. The role will have a team of up to 7 direct reports, and will be responsible for managing the daily operation and development of the team. The position is located in San Jose, CA and reports to the World Wide Senior Manager of Application Development also located in San Jose, CA. *Duties* - Manage Web Application Development team, which will consist of up to 7 software developers spanning multiple web development and packaged solution technologies and in 3 different geographies. - Lead the recruitment and hiring process for future members of the web development team in all world-wide locations. - Develop career and training plans and oversee the career development of all team members. - Ensure software development is completed in a timely manner and that quality and development standards are adhered to for all work. - Work with the World Wide Sr. Manager of Application Development to build out and refine web applications strategy. - Work to continually refine and improve our development process in the Web Applications space, through measuring a set of key performance metrics for the team. - Conduct design reviews and code reviews for the team’s work, and ensure that all required deliverables are met for work across the team. - Provide status reports and adequate management reporting on activities, progress, and issues in a timely manner. - Attend World Wide Development team staff meetings and provide input for continuous improvement, strategic and tactical project input, and technology decisions. *Position Skills Requirements* - Extensive, hands-on experience in developing web applications and strong knowledge of software development methodologies and technologies. - Deep expertise in J2EE or .NET technologies and languages as a hands-on developer. - Previous experience leading and mentoring other software developers across multiple projects. - Experience working with geographically dispersed teams. - Solid software architecture, data modeling, and UI design skills. - Proven track record of negotiating with project stakeholders on scope and functionality, and managing software development projects, and delivering on customer requirements. - Expertise in Application Security. - Application performance tuning experience and knowledge of industry tools in this area - Excellent business process design skills - Strong English verbal, presentation, facilitation and written communication skills - Excellent analytical and conceptual skills. * * *Preferred Skills* - Experience in multiple software development methodologies – RAPID, SCRUM, etc. - Web 2.0 related development experience. - Enterprise SOA architecture expertise. - Experience interfacing with or developing in an ERP system highly desired– e.g. SAP R/3, Peoplesoft, Oracle Apps. - Semiconductor industry experience * * *Minimum Years of Experience* - 5+ years of Web Application development/delivery experience - 3+ years in leading other software developers and building teams. *Education Requirements* Appropriate undergraduate degree or technical training required. (i.e. Computer Science, Business, Engineering etc.).
